Aqua Nueva - Restaurant Review

I went to Aqua a few weeks ago. I was so impress with their food and service that I've decided to write about it. Although having left it so long to write, I'm afraid my recollection of the entire experience is a bit lacking. So instead of attempting a full on account of my experience, I will let the pictures do the writing.

Aqua is owned by David Yeo a former financial legal adviser who decided to leave his job and move into the restaurant business former after he receive great comment about his home cooking from his colleague and friends. He has launched a Chinese restaurant named Hutong on the 33rd floor of The Shard and will be opening a new Aqua tomorrow also in the shard on the 31st floor. So if you have been wanting to spend some quality time in the Shard perhaps you should tried one of these restaurants. There are about 20 Aquas' globally including the two rooftop restaurants Aqua Nueva ( serves contemporary northern Spanish dishes) and Aqua Kyoto (serve Japanese dishes and has a sushi bar) at The Regent street building  where I visited; 240 Regent Street - Entrance 30 Argyll  Street, London W1B 3BR. The perfect thing to do or place to be after a long shopping session in London Oxford street/ Regent street.
Pan con tomate (tomato bread)
Huevo estrellado (Chorizo, pancetta and fried potatoes with soft poached eggs)
Solomillo de ternera con raviollis fe foie y setas coc sala de oloroso (Fillet of beef, raviolli of foie gras and wild mushrooms with olaroso sauce)
Canelon de mango y albahaca con helado  de fruta  de la passion ( Mango and basil cannelloni  with passion fruit ice cream cocktail pairing

The staff were great. I went with a good friend of mine and we were lucky to have our meal before 'the tea time rush  hour - 6pm' , when all the city workers rush in to unwind and dine. All their dinners in at the time had gathered on the rooftop for pre-drinks. Aqua well know for their good cocktails so we had  planned to go on the rooftop to get some drinks before food, but it was far too busy there so we decided not to join the crowd. The plus side to that was the incredible atmosphere in the restaurant area, it was as if it had been close just for the two of us. Later on as we were finishing off our main courses, it started to get a bit busy. Average starter price will cost you between £7-10, main courses £22-28, dessert from £8.

While we enjoyed ourselves there, had a wonderful experience and more importantly loved the food. We thought it was costly, definitely an indulgent eating experience. So perhaps one for only special occasions.
